We all know there is no such things as degrees to pregnancy. You can't be a little pregnant or somewhat pregant. But when the first beta numbers came back. Mellssa's reaction: Girl, you're HELLA pregnant!
Beta numbers are just the measure of how much pregnancy hormones are produced by the embryo once implanted. It is measured with a blood test. The number rising is a sign of a viable, growing, healthy pregnancy.

My first beta: 614. That number is so high we're a little worried Julio may have split. Twins would be new for me. Triplets I don't think I can handle. My body is so small. I can't afford to be put on bedrest. Still worried about stretchmarks (selfish, i know.)
Of course the doctor's office is tight lipped about whether they think I've got multiples in here or not. Never want anything to come back and bite them in the ass.
Two days later I had blood drawn for Beta #2.

That's over 3x the original beta. Now Melissa and I are getting worried. Could it be possible that Julio split into 2 since he was already halfway out of the yolk sac? WHAT IS GOING ON?!? Again, the doctor's office will not say whether twins (or even triplets) are likely.

Beta #3
Now I'm scared. Melissa and I have been all over the internet trying to figure out what this means. The posts concerning beta ranges is more confusing than helpful. Every woman is different. Every pregnancy is different. The ranges for multiples are all over the place. We have settled on the fact that with this kind of number coupled with how dark the line is on the pregnancy test. We are confident we've got 2 boys on the way.
One thing we do know... I'm HELLA pregnant!!
