I have a hangup about my age. Don't get me wrong. I'm blessed to have made it this far in life and I don't look my age. It's just a subject i'm insecure about. so when my original OB warned that this pregnancy would be different because #1: I'm carrying twins and #2: I'm not 22 anymore. I gave him the serious stank eye!

What is that supposed to mean? I'm still young and vital! But this week has proven the bastard right. I'm 34 weeks pregnant and it feels like my body is breaking down. I've never been this slow or tired in my life. And I don't get it....I was close to 200 pounds with my oldest (hard to believe, huh) What's changed? "A lot of it has to do with age..." the polite ultrasound tech informed me.
Are you calling me old?
She was so nice I refrained from getting up and slapping her. lol! I"m not on bedrest but I might as well be. My feet are so swollen I can hardly walk. Can't lay down to put them up or my stomach will hurt, but just sitting on the couch makes them feel like they will explode with pressure. I can't win.
Nevertheless, here's the breakdown from the last appointment
I'm 34 weeks. Measuring at who cares at this point. Blood pressure is normal. I'm 168 lbs. (gained 16lbs since my last visit. 53 lbs total. We are guessing water weight). Baby A (AJ) is head down!!!!!! Which means we will try for a vaginal birth. You have no idea how relieved that made me. I almost walked over to the hospital at that moment. Baby B (julio) is breech. Our OB is confident he will either turn or deliver butt first. We promised to tease him if that happened. I'm 1cm dialated but my buddies aren't far enough down in the canal to be ready for labor.
For the past couple of weeks though, I've been dealing with this sharp pain at the top of my uterus. The Braxton hicks (practice contractions) are getting stronger and each time this stabbing sensation accompanies them. Maybe it's my abs being stretched to the max.
The doctor prescribed some compression stockings for me a couple of weeks ago to help with the swelling.
"Do they come in sexy thigh highs with lace, polka dots, fishnets, chevrons, or cool colors? If not, I don't see that happenin'..."
This week...I ran to the pharmacy to pick some up. My feet are twice as big since then. None of my shoes fit. My feet are sore and I can barely hobble along around the house. Of course, no one had them now that i'm desperate! Finally, I found one and they have been helping even though they are super uncomfortable.
Everyone agreed if I don't go into spontaneous labor that I'd be induced on August 5th, exactly 36 weeks. Twins are a delicate case. can't be born too soon but can't bake too long. I'm not a fan of inducing. I believe in letting nature take its course and little people know when they are ready to see the world. But for their safety I won't be allowed to go past 38 weeks Excited to see these little faces and love on them. It's been a joy to carry you boys but you gotta go. Mommy is waiting on you!!
